Following an exceptional response from innovators across the UK, the Cambridge Tech Week Pitch Competition has reached its next milestone, with 20 companies shortlisted to progress through to the next stage of judging.

The Pitch Competition celebrates the UK's most exciting emerging deep tech businesses, providing founders with the opportunity to showcase their innovations to investors, industry leaders and delegates from across the global technology ecosystem.

Applications this year showcased an impressive breadth of innovation, spanning artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, health technology, climate technology, advanced engineering and other emerging deep tech sectors.

A Rigorous Independent Judging Process

The Pitch Competition has been designed to ensure every application is assessed through a fair, transparent and independent process.

All submissions were reviewed by an experienced Stage 1 Pre-Judging Panel, bringing together expertise from venture capital, finance, innovation and commercial growth.

This year's Pre-Judging Panel comprises:

  • Paul Hughes, Managing Director, BDO
  • Jamie Bignal, Director, HSBC Innovation Banking
  • Mayank Shah, Co-founder & CEO, Grow Beyond Borders
  • Anne Dobre, Investor Director, Parkwalk Advisors
  • Isabelle O'Keeffe, Early Stage Investor, Twin Path Ventures
  • Martin, HMGCC
Each application was assessed against a defined set of judging criteria, including innovation, commercial potential, scalability and overall impact. Following this review, the panel identified the Top 20 companies that will progress to the next stage of the competition.
