CWIC 2026: Networks for Intelligence - Connecting Technologies, People and Possibilities

Last week, CW International Conference 2026 (CWIC – Networks for Intelligence) brought together a community from across industry, government and academia, both in person and online, to explore the powerful relationship between connectivity and the emerging technologies shaping our future.

With over 500 registrations and increased international participation this year, the conference highlighted not only the pace of innovation, but the growing importance of global collaboration in driving meaningful progress.

At its core, CWIC 2026 explored how connectivity and technologies such as AI, quantum and 6G are not evolving in isolation, but are deeply interconnected - converging to unlock entirely new opportunities for innovation, value creation and societal impact.

A Day Built on Insight, Innovation and Collaboration

The conference programme featured keynote presentations, panel discussions and a dynamic start-up showcase, alongside valuable networking opportunities that reinforced one of CWIC’s defining strengths - connection.

A particular highlight was the workshop delivered by FTH & JOINER, which created a strong bridge between academia and industry. Bringing together key stakeholders, it provided a collaborative space to explore critical topics in advanced connectivity and encouraged open, cross-sector dialogue.

Four Key Themes from the Day

Several important themes emerged consistently throughout the conference:

Designing for security and resilience from the outset
Security, timing, AI and resilience must be embedded into systems and networks from day one. Detection and prevention remain critical, but human oversight continues to play an essential role in validating outputs and ensuring trust.

Being bold and embracing failure
Innovation requires experimentation. Progress comes from exploring new ideas, testing solutions and having the confidence to fail - and learn - along the way.

Collaboration as a catalyst for innovation
Strong partnerships between industry, academia and innovators are fundamental. Creating environments where ideas can be shared openly is key to solving complex challenges and accelerating progress.

Investing in talent and leadership
Clear vision, strong leadership and empowered teams are essential to navigating change. Equally important is building future talent pipelines to support long-term innovation and growth.

Encouraging Connection Through the CWIC Connect Challenge

CWIC is, at its heart, about connection - and this year we brought that to life through the CWIC Connect Challenge.

Delegates were encouraged to engage throughout the day by attending sessions, connecting with fellow members and visiting exhibitor stands, earning points for each interaction.

Congratulations to our winner, who achieved an impressive 178 points, demonstrating outstanding engagement across the event. The prize - tickets to Cambridge Tech Week - will provide another fantastic opportunity to continue those conversations and connections later this year.

Thank You to Our Community

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Steering Committee, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and attendees. Your support, insight and participation are what make CWIC such a valuable and impactful event.

Looking Ahead

CWIC continues to grow as a platform for collaboration, innovation and meaningful discussion across the connectivity ecosystem - and we’re already looking ahead.

Save the date: CWIC 2027 will take place in Cambridge on 22 April 2027.
