CWTEC 2026 introduces early-career programme and Start-up Zone

CW Technology & Engineering Conference 2026 will expand its role as a flagship UK event with the introduction of two new initiatives focused on talent development and emerging innovation.

Building on discussions across the CWTEC committee, these additions aim to ensure the event not only reflects the sector, but actively contributes to its future growth.

Supporting the next generation of talent

This year, CWTEC: Engineering the Next Semiconductor Frontier will introduce a dedicated early-career programme, offering a limited number of complimentary places for students, interns, graduates, apprentices and early-career engineers.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with industry leaders and decision-makers

  • Gain insight into emerging technologies and applications

  • Build relationships across companies, startups and research organisations

The programme is designed to address a recognised gap in industry events, ensuring early-career professionals are present and actively engaged.

Introducing the CWTEC Start-up Zone

Alongside this, CWTEC 2026 will feature a dedicated Start-up Zone, providing a platform for a select group of early-stage companies working across semiconductors, photonics and deep tech.

The Start-up Zone will offer:

  • Visibility among senior industry leaders and ecosystem partners

  • Opportunities to build connections with potential collaborators and customers

  • 2 delegate tickets to the live event

  • Logo presence in the conference brochure, and on the conference website and app

  • Social media promotion spotlighting your company

For £35 + VAT, you'll receive all the above plus a space for your pull-banner in the Start-Up Zone.

For just £100 + VAT, you'll receive all the above plus a dedicated exhibition table in the Start-Up Zone.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be less than 5 years old

  • Employ fewer than 25 staff members

With limited places available, the initiative is designed to highlight high-quality startups contributing to the future of the sector.

Strengthening the ecosystem

Together, these initiatives reinforce CWTEC’s role in connecting the full semiconductor ecosystem, from established organisations to emerging talent and startups.
