Biomedical Engineer

Summary

You will be heavily involved in the development of our capabilities in the medical and healthcare sector, working on an expanding range of projects. Depending on your background, you may be designing and building electro-mechanical systems, using computer software and mathematical modelling. Part of the role will be outward facing, interacting with potential clients at conferences and business meetings, and when possible presenting results to a range of technical and non-technical audiences. Apply now and join a team that works with leading-edge technology at the forefront of today's hardest engineering problems.

Would you like to work on novel healthcare solutions, applying your skills and knowledge in biomedical engineering to solve our clients' unique problems? We have helped to develop novel in vitro diagnostic devices, accurate non-invasive blood sensors, innovative electroceutical devices for therapy, software for complex delivery systems, and wearable devices for monitoring critical physiology, amongst a range of projects.

Our work is largely driven by technical development and innovation. One of the great advantages of working here is that no two projects are the same. If you are an enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated person who thrives on variety, enjoys learning new skills and facing exciting challenges then this is the place to be.

THE ROLE

You will be heavily involved in the development of our capabilities in the medical and healthcare sector, working on an expanding range of projects. Depending on your background you may be designing and building electro-mechanical systems, perhaps using computer software and mathematical modelling.  You may be programming electronics, analysing complex data, building and evaluating prototypes, troubleshooting problems, while always working closely with Plextek colleagues to solve technical problems.

Part of the role will be outward facing, interacting with potential clients at conferences and business meetings, and when possible presenting results to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.  The interface between healthcare and technology is an exciting area, but requires excellent communication skills to bridge the gap.

You will need to enjoy solving demanding technical problems brought to you by clients from across the medical and healthcare spectrum. In-depth knowledge of particular areas of the healthcare sector would be useful, but importantly you will need to enjoy expanding your areas of interest, keeping up-to-date with new developments in the field, and keeping an eye open for business opportunities across the wider market.

THE REWARDS

In return, we offer a competitive package and a stimulating environment that will encourage you to be your best. We provide all the training, professional development and support that you need to complete your projects. We are a versatile business and are able to support career progression in many dimensions including technical, commercial and managerial.
