THE ROLE

A number of positions are available from graduate engineer to senior consultant depending on your experience. You will be developing real-time software for embedded systems working closely with members of our engineering team to create solutions that meet our clients’ requirements. Projects range from using small off-the-shelf platforms with minimal resources to large customised designs with an integrated RTOS. You will be configuring embedded peripherals on microcontrollers and interfacing to external devices using techniques such as GPIOs, SPI, I2C and UARTs. You will be testing and refining your solutions at hardware level using equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers. There will be opportunities to develop solutions for non-real-time systems, such as stand-alone PC applications and mobile device apps, in a variety of programming languages. You will be participating in client meetings and will be responsible for the full software life cycle from concept to delivery.

Knowledge of real-time embedded systems and a solid understanding of professional software development are essential. Experience of wireless protocols is highly desirable and an understanding of schematic diagrams would be an advantage. You must be comfortable participating in sales and project meetings with clients and able to generate technical responses to bids and tenders. You should have a good technical degree or an equivalent qualification and you should have genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving.
