João Bocas Spotlight
What excited you about this programme?
The programme presents a truly unique opportunity for innovators to get the right support and access important networks. One of the challenges that SME’s have is related to skills and resources, in other words they often have skill and knowledge gaps and lack of resources to addressing it or changing these issues.
What’s your advice to SMEs applying?
SME’s should apply if they feel that they are ready to innovate at pace and bring added value to the marketplace, whether they are completely new in terms of technology solution or bringing a complementary solution to the marketplace.
What do you think this project will mean to Cambridge?
For Cambridge means that more entrepreneurial activities will lead to more local jobs and position Cambridge very strongly in the Technology Innovation space. Cambridge already have a world class reputation in other areas, such as MedTech , Biology and Medical Research.
What do you hope to achieve through mentoring?
Personally, through my involvement with mentoring I am aiming to achieve a broader spectrum of knowledge in the IoT ” Internet of Things ” space and learn by doing and seeing it. I believe that Entrepreneurship is a constantly evolving exercise that is not completed.
We will be announcing the shortlisted companies who will be taking part in the programme very soon.
