CW Annual Review for 2020/21
HIGHLIGHTS
- Revenues increased for another year, reaching £1.4M in 2020. Profits of £77.5k are being reinvested back into CW's activities, including:
- Growing the team to include a Membership Executive and Marketing Executive
- Launching a Knowledge Exchange programme for members
- Delivering high quality, technical content more regularly to our community via an online version of the CW Journal
- 50 new memberships started in 2020.
- CW launched the "Product as a Service" Consortium to help members scale and digitise their products. Founding members include Arm & ghd.

- The UK5G Innovation Network, for which CW is the lead delivery partner, has now tripled in size since its foundation in 2018
- The first stage of the new CW Techsters programme launched, consisting of online digital skills training with content supplied by 1NCE, Anglian Water, PwC, Huawei and Humans in the Loop.
- Over 1,000 technologists registered for "Edge Week", an immersive online experience that combined the CW International Conference and the CW Technology & Engineering Conference

CWIC 2020 attendee feedback
- The CW 5G Testbed launched. The first cohort to test how 5G might improve their products include Camnexus, Extend Robotics and Ubisense.
- CW gave training to over 2,000 women entrepreneurs in low to middle income countries through our partnership with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women
- In collaboration with the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority, CW delivered a series of training workshops to help local leaders get to grips with how emerging technology could benefit their businesses.
- After ceasing in-person events in March 2020, 31 webinars have been delivered to 2,439 delegates. These webinars:
- Achieved an average of 88% event satisfaction, with three webinars scoring as high as 95%
- Had an average of 48% non-member attendees
- Awarded 236 CPD certificates to our community
